The photographs on our web site are copyrighted by Seattle Photographs and may not be used without payment of the appropriate license fee. These are "rights managed" photographs, and the rates for their use are based upon the size and purpose for which the photograph is used. No photographs on this web site are in the public domain.
Traditionally, license fees are based on the type of use, placement, industry, size, circulation, distribution area, and time period, among other factors. Calculating the license fee based upon the traditional pricing model can be quite complicated. Unlike most stock photo agencies, Seattle Photographs uses a simplified pricing model of only 4 price levels:

$15 - Personal Low-Res (1 Mpix) about 800 x 1200 pixels, use: personal blogs, web sites, presentations

$35 - Commercial Low-res (1 Mpix) about 800 x 1200 pixels, use: business blogs, web sites, presentations

$75 - Commercial Hi-Res (4 Mpix) about 1600 x 2400 pixels, use: newsletters, brochures, product packaging, software, 1/4 to 1/2 page magazines, post cards

$145 - Commercial Original (varies from 6 to 13 Mpix) 2000 x 3000 to 2900 x 4300 pixels, use: annual reports, books, full page magazines, newspapers, POP displays, billboards. posters, calendars, any other application where you need maximum resolution and detail.
That’s it. The placement, industry, circulation, territory, duration, distribution area do not matter.
Downloaded photographs are high quality JPEG files. TIFF files are available at no extra cost, and are deliverable via FTP or mailed on a CD. If you need a TIFF file please e-mail your request to howard@seattlephotographs.com

You can hire a photographer to shoot exactly the type of photographs you need. Our affordable day rate is $500, or our hourly rate is $75/hr with a two hour minimum.
Once the photo shoot is finished and the photographs have been processed, they will be uploaded to a password protected section of our web site. You can view and select the photographs you would like to use, and download high resolution JPEG photographs right off the web site. High resolution TIFF files are also available at no extra charge, and these would be mailed to you on a CD as these can be up to 36 MB each.
Each photograph will be cropped as needed, then color corrected, with adjustments in contrast, tone and perspective.
