Howard Frisk is a Seattle based freelance photographer. As a native of Seattle, he has chosen to specialize in photographing his own hometown, the beautiful Emerald City, the jewel of the Great Pacific Northwest. Back in 1998, when posting photographs on the web was still something new, Howard creating a web site to showcase his Seattle area pictures. Soon after he created an online stock photography business, Seattle Photographs, and made his work available for licensing and as fine art prints.

Howard's goal in photographing Seattle and the Pacific Northwest is to capture the beauty of this unique region of our country. It's true that it rains in Seattle for days on end, but when the sun finally breaks though the clouds Seattle becomes glorious.  

Howard's last project was for the Frommer's, one of the world's largest publisher of travel guidebooks. A shot list of over 100 Seattle area locations was provided, and less than two months was given to finish the project. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and in the words of Frommer's Photo Editor, Alden Gewirtz:

"I have seen the first draft layout of the book, and it looks amazing. I can't believe you got so many clear, blue-sky days in Seattle.  The colors are great, and so were the approaches you took to just about every shoot. Thanks again for all your help so far, and hopefully we'll work together again."

Frommer's 2012 Seattle guidebook will be published in January 1012.

Another recent project was for the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau and Weaver Multimedia Group. He was chosen as the photographer for their 2011 edition of the Seattle Official Visitors Guide. The guide is published bi-annually with a print run of 350,000 copies. The guides are distributed free of charge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and various hotels and tourist attractions throughout Seattle.
