There are two ways to purchase our Seattle photographs:
1) as stock photography you download licensed for commercial or personal use, or
2) as prints to you can order framed or unframed
1. Stock Photography
What are stock photographs?
These are photographs that you can download and which are made available for use via a license. Stock photographs are commonly used in three general areas: commercial (advertising, packaging, displays, etc.), editorial (news articles, textbooks, educational materials, etc.), and personal. Stock photographs are usually licensed for a specific time period and for a specific use. Exclusive use can be licensed which will prevent the same photograph from being used by two competing businesses or organizations. How are stock photo prices determined? Traditionally, license fees are based on the type of use, placement, industry, size, circulation, distribution area, and time period, among other factors. Calculating the license fee based upon the traditional pricing model can be quite complicated. Unlike most stock photo businesses, Seattle Photographs uses a simplified pricing model:
Personal Use Rates
$15 - Web Size - about 640 x 480 pixels
$25 - Low-Resolution - 1 megapixel - about 800 x 1200 pixels
$45 - Hi-Resolution - 4 megapixels - about 1600 x 2400 pixels
$95 - Original Size - varies from 6 to 21 megapixels and from 2000 x 3000 to 3600 x 5400 pixels
Commercial Use Rates
$25 - Web Size - about 640 x 480 pixels
$45 - Low-Resolution - 1 megapixel - about 800 x 1200 pixels
$85 - Hi-Resolution - 4 megapixels - about 1600 x 2400 pixels
$145 - Original Size - varies from 6 to 21 megapixels and from 2000 x 3000 to 3600 x 5400 pixels

What types of prints are available?
Our photographs are available in four styles:
1. Prints on paper
2. Giclée prints on canvas
3. Thin wraps
4. Prints on Metal
Each is explained below.
1. Prints on Paper
Our photographs printed on paper are offered with your choice of two different finishes: Glossy or Lustre.
Glossy is a shiny finish printed on Kodak Royal Paper or Kodak Endura Paper.
Lustre offers the vibrant colors of glossy with a fingerprint-resistant matte finish. Printed on Kodak Endura Paper. Lustre prints offer the best of both worlds: •the color saturation of glossy finish •the fingerprint resistance of matte •none of the glare associated with glossy prints
2. Giclée canvas prints
Our Giclée canvas prints are made with high-quality archival inks using a high-resolution large format inkjet printer. The Giclée process enables us to print directly onto museum-quality canvas material, so prints will not separate over time. A protective spray coating is applied to the surface of each print to help prevent scratches and other damage. Canvas prints are available in three different mounting options: Canvas Wrap, Canvas Stretch/Staple, and Canvas Board.
Traditional Canvas Wrap
Traditional canvas wraps are a stylish, low-cost alternative to standard framing and matting. The print is wrapped around a stretcher frame so that 1 1/2" of the photo's edges are visible on the sides of the frame. Note: since the outer edge of the photo will be used for the sides of the frame, not all of the photo will be visible from the front. They are delivered ready to hang with hanging hardware attached.
Canvas stretch/staple mounting is a unique way to display your images like a fine art canvas. The print is stretched to the edge of a 3/4" thick wooden frame, and stapled around the edges. Unlike a canvas wrap, the entire image is visible from the front. Perfect for framing.
Flat Mounted Canvas Board
Canvas board prints are mounted onto sturdy Gator Foamboard, a very rigid foam board and lightweight backing with a white finish.
3. Thin Wraps
Thin wraps are paper print with a satin laminate or a Giclée canvas print neatly wrapped around sturdy, 3/16" Gatorboard. Each Thin Wrap comes ready to hang backed with two 3/4" thick lightweight foam mounting blocks with holes drilled. The mounting blocks hold the print away from the wall for a contemporary float effect. No frame is needed.
4. Metal Prints
To create Metal Prints we infuse dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets, creating truly archival works of art. These Metal Prints showcase a revolutionary new medium that is highly durable, waterproof, weatherproof, and ultra scratch-resistant. The high-gloss sheen gives your photos a vibrant luminescence with incredible detail and resolution. Each Metal Print comes backed with two 3/4" thick lightweight foam blocks and aluminum plate with drilled holes for easy hanging. When hung, these stunning prints will float off the wall. Each print has rounded corners for your safety and the surface can be easily cleaned with any commercial glass cleaner.
